NJEA has a Resource guide on Evaluation for Teachers. Click on the link. It's 28 pages. Copy it
to your home computers and your z drives in school. Although we already use the framework for Danielson
for our evaluations, there will be training this coming year and implementation the following year on the new
Evaluation System. It's important that all teachers are aware of what's going to be used and how we're
going to be judged. Use the materials in this pdf. Also, each Sr. Rep has been given a booklet on where we
stand now with the new system and rubrics. Of course, things do change so please go onto the NJEA
website frequently to be informed on these changes. After you log in, click on Issues>Evaluation.
Administration will be informed as well, however, we need to hear and see it from the people who care about
what we will be facing personally.
NJEA is urging each district to have people serve on this "NEW" Committee. They are also urging people who
are "Union Friendly" to serve on it so that things are being implemented the correct way and by
contract/legislation. If interested, please contact Davida.
Have a wonderful summer.
