In 2014, New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked RHS number 102 on its biennial list of the 300+ public high schools in the state. In September 2016, Roxbury High School soared to number 52 on the list, making it the fourth fastest-rising high school in New Jersey. Part of what helped Roxbury achieve this success was a change in the formula for ranking schools, which now includes student participation in the visual and performing arts. Roxbury is considered a “choice” district for these programs. It should also be noted that Roxbury Education Association members worked the two years since the last ranking without a contract. The professionalism and exceptionalism of the staff never wavered during a difficult period of negotiations. Roxbury is a remarkable district to raise children in and every member of the Association considers themselves fortunate to work with these children and in this community.
